The four-lane expansion of McKeown Avenue will resume next week, with McNamara Street temporarily closing for sewer work, the City of North Bay announced in a news release Friday.
Ed Seguin and Sons Trucking & Paving Ltd., the contractor for the $9.6-million project, will begin sanitary sewer installation mid-week, closing McNamara Street for approximately five days.

“One lane will remain open for local traffic to provide one-way access to Lucky 13,” the city said.
The street will reopen after this phase before closing again in June for further construction. The remaining work includes storm and watermain installations, new traffic lights at McNamara intersection, road widening, roundabout upgrades, and improved pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.
A multi-use path, new sidewalks, streetlights, and boulevard restoration are also part of the project, stretching from McNamara Avenue to McKeown Plaza’s entrance.
All businesses will stay accessible, with one lane maintained in each direction.
Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 30.
“The city appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure project,” said North Bay officials.
