A 31-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including robbery and drug possession, after a multi-day investigation by Sault police.

Officers were called to a business in the 200 block of Bay Street on March 31, after reports of a robbery. Police said a suspect smashed a glass display case with a brick and “stole more than $38,000 of merchandise” from the location.

Two days later, on April 2, authorities arrested the accused in the 500 block of Goulais Avenue after receiving 911 calls concerning a person obstructing traffic on Langdon Road and attempting to enter a stranger’s home on Cooper Street.

“A search of the accused located approximately 10.12 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 2.28 grams of suspected fentanyl, and three bullets,” the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in its news release.

As a result of the investigation, the 31-year-old was charged with robbery, break-and-enter, careless storage of ammunition, two counts of drug possession, and 10 counts of failing to comply with a probation order along with an additional charge for possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused was held in custody for a court appearance and later remanded following his bail hearing.
