A 43-year-old man faces multiple charges, including break and enter, following an incident early Wednesday morning in the Sault.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said officers responded to a report of a break-in at a building in the 700 block of Pine Street that occurred around 3 a.m. on April 2.

“An investigation revealed the accused had broken into the building through a window,” police said in a news release.

A warrant was issued, and the accused was arrested later that evening after officers were called to a complaint about an unwanted person in the 600 block of Bay Street.

As a result of the incidents, the man has been charged with break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, along with five counts of failing to comply with probation orders.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
