A 43-year-old man is facing multiple drug and weapons charges after Sault police seized replica firearms and suspected narcotics in a downtown arrest earlier this week.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 10:20 a.m. on April 2, after a report of a person with what appeared to be a firearm in the 100 block of Tancred Street.
Police said they located and arrested the accused at the scene.
A search of the suspected uncovered two replica firearms, approximately 10.35 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 6.46 grams of suspected cocaine, 1.27 grams of suspected fentanyl, and about $1,000 in cash.
“The estimated street value of drugs seized is approximately $1,871.50,” said police in a news release Friday.
As a result, the accused was charged with careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed prohibited device, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, drug trafficking, two counts of drug possession and possession of property obtained by crime along with an additional weapons charge.
The accused was remanded and remains in custody following a bail hearing.
