An investigation is underway after a vehicle was set ablaze in Montreal’s Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough late Sunday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 11:15 p.m. about the flames outside a sports complex on de Normanville and Jarry streets.

“When police officers arrived on the scene, the Montreal fire department was already getting the fire under control,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “No incendiary device was found.”

The vehicle is a total loss and has been towed for analysis.

The circumstances surrounding the blaze remain unknown.
