2 men in hospital after being stabbed during fight

Two men are in hospital after being injured during a late-night conflict in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough.

A police operation is underway on de la Rotonde Street on Nuns’ Island in relation to the incident.

This comes after Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 11:10 p.m. Monday about the incident on Monk Boulevard near Springland Street.

“When police arrived, they quickly located two victims,” said Johany Charland, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “One victim, a 49-year-old man, was injured to the upper and lower body. The second victim, a 31-year-old man, was injured to the lower body.”

Both victims were transported to hospital, and their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

“According to the initial information, a conflict broke out between the 49-year-old man and a suspect,” said Charland. “The suspect allegedly injured him with a sharp object. The 31-year-old man then attempted to intervene and was injured.”

She says the suspect then fled before the arrival of police, leading to the ongoing operation on Nuns’ Island.
