Police arrest suspect after tow-truck driver stabbed in Laval

A tow truck driver was stabbed following a road rage incident in Laval.

Laval police (SPL) received a 911 call just before 6 a.m. on Thursday reporting that a 52-year-old man was stabbed on Saint-Martin Boulevard West.

The victim was transported to hospital and police said his life was not in danger.

The SPL did not provide information about what happened between the tow truck driver and the suspect, a 30-year-old man who was driving a vehicle but confirmed the road rage incident started on Highway 15.

The suspect fled before police arrived but was later arrested by Montreal police (SPVM).

“The victim will be met during the day to provide a statement, and the suspect has also been taken into custody by our police service. It’s the investigation that will determine the sequence of events and the motives behind the incident,” an SPL spokesperson said.

The investigation is ongoing.
