Montreal’s bitter cold to ease up in time for the weekend

The bitter cold temperatures are forecast to improve over the weekend in Montreal.

Those in the Montreal area can expect temperatures to move up over the weekend.

A low of -16 C is expected to feel like -18 C with northeasterly winds on Friday night.

Cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of flurries are also expected to end the work week.

The mercury could then move to a daytime high of -4 C on Saturday. That is with a chance of up to 3 centimetres of snow forecasted to roll in by 2 p.m.

A mild overnight low of -6 C is expected for Saturday. At this time in January, -6 C is the usual daytime high.

A cloudy Sunday with a high of -2 C is then expected as the weekend closes out.
