Here are the Montreal-area weekend road closures due to construction

The Quebec Transport Ministry (MTQ) is reminding drivers heading into Montreal that certain routes will be closed due to construction projects.

Drivers are advised to plan trips before leaving to avoid traffic headaches.

Charles-de-Gaulle Bridge (A-40)

• From Friday at 9:30 p.m. to Monday at 4 a.m., one of three lanes will be closed in each direction on Highway 40, between Gouin Boulevard East in Montreal and Route-344 (Saint-Charles Rd.) in Terrebonne, including the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge.

The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h in both directions on the highway.

René-Lévesque Highway (R-132)

• In Longueuil, from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the René-Lévesque Highway (R-132) East will be closed between Roland-Therrien Boulevard and Highway 25.

Bonaventure Highway (A-10)

• From Saturday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) will be completely closed between the Wellington Street viaduct and Highway 15.
• From Saturday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., the Bonaventure will be closed between exit 2 (Pierre-Dupuy Avenue) and Wellington Street.

Souligny Avenue East

• From Friday at 10:30 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., Soligny Avenue East will be closed between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets.

REM

• On Dec. 12 and 13, the network will close early for final testing before the Anse-à-l’Orme branch goes into service.

Alternative travel options will be available.
