The Montreal Canadiens signed goaltender Jacob Fowler to a three-year entry-level contract on Friday.

General manager Kent Hughes also gave the 20-year-old a one-season AHL contract to join the Laval Rocket by the end of the campaign.

In 35 games this season with Boston College in the NCAA, Fowler posted a 25-7-2 record, with a 1.63 goals-against average and .940 save percentage.

As a rookie in the NCAA in 2023-2024, Fowler had a record of 32-6-1, a goals-against-average of 2.14 and an efficiency rate of .926.

In January 2024, he won the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship with the United States.

Before joining Boston College, Fowler won the Clark Cup in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms. He dominated the playoffs with an 8-1 record, a 1.36 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage.

It was after those playoffs that the six-foot-two, 214-pound goaltender was selected 69th overall in the 2023 NHL amateur draft by the Canadiens.
