Teen arrested in south London weapons investigation

A teenager has been arrested in connection to a south London weapons investigation.

On Tuesday just after noon, police were called to a school near Millbank Drive and Southdale Road East after the principal made a weapons report.

The London Police Service said the student went to the school and had what looked to be an alleged firearm before they left on foot.

Video surveillance confirmed the suspect’s identity and that he wasn’t on school property anymore. The teen was found near his home. A search didn’t turn up any weapons.

A search warrant was executed later in the day around 7 p.m. near Southdale Road East and Koru Court.

As a result, the following items were seized:

• Loaded Glock 19 handgun
• 12-gauge sawed off break action shotgun with tampered serial number
• 22 calibre rifle
• Two extended 22 calibre magazines
• 15 rounds of 9-millimetre ammunition
• 15 rounds of shotgun ammunition
• 26 rounds of 22 calibre ammunition

A 16-year-old boy of London has been charged with various counts of weapons related charges.
