Snow squalls continue Friday

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the details on your weather heading into the weekend.

Sunshine kicks off Friday morning in London, but flurries and squalls continue in midwestern Ontario.

“Frigid temperatures, wind chills heading close to minus 20 by the afternoon,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “We slowly start to recover, but that one squall will continue through Friday afternoon.”

By Friday afternoon, a squall will move from Bruce County to Toronto, so Atchison warns travellers between London and Toronto to drive cautiously along the 401.

Looking to the weekend, Atchison has some good news, “We have some milder air moving in.”

“And then early next week, daytime highs are set to return to about minus two and overnight lows coming up as well,” she said.

Here’s a look at the London, Ont. region’s forecast

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. 30 per cent chance of flurries in the afternoon. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 7. Wind chill minus 19 in the morning and minus 12 in the afternoon.

Friday night: Cloudy. Becoming partly cloudy in the evening. Wind becoming south 20 km/h before morning. Low minus 14. Wind chill near minus 20.

Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 3.

Sunday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 5.

Monday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. Windy. High minus 2.

Tuesday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 4.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 2.
