Police investigate fatal fire in Saugeen Shores

The Saugeen Shores Police Service is investigating a fire in Port Elgin that involved a death.

At about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police and firefighters were alerted to a possible house fire at a home in Port Elgin.

First responders arrived on scene and confirmed that there was a working fire at the residence.

The Saugeen Shores Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire and located a male without vital signs.

The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
