The Oneida Nation of the Thames has a new fire truck in service.
Celebrated with a ceremony on Thursday, the new fire engine replaced one that had been in service for over two decades.
“It’s called a push in ceremony,” explained Chief Glenn Hill. " It started back in the 1880’s back when there were horse-drawn fire engines and when they got a new piece of apparatus, they would push the fire engine back into the hall."
It’s the department’s first new truck since 2007.
