Individual charged after fatal collision

An individual has been charged after a fatal single-vehicle collision killed a six-year-old passenger.

The 22-year-old resident of Wallaceburg has been arrested and charged with two counts of operation causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, dangerous operation causing death and operation causing death. The collision occurred on April 29, 2025 at the intersection of St. Clair Parkway and West Smith Line in Sombra at approximately 6:50 p.m.

Four people were in the vehicle. Along with the six year old from Walpole Island First Nation, three others sustained life-threatening injuries.

Two individuals with life-threatening injuries are now in stable condition.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Sarnia on May 28, 2025. Currently, a publication ban has been issued.
