Forensic testimony links murder victim’s blood to the vehicle of the accused

A forensic expert who testified on Tuesday could not rule out that the blood found in a vehicle linked to the accused came from the stabbing victim Shaniqua Henry.

Dr. Gerald Alderson, a forensic scientist with the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto examined the blood found in a Black Chevy Impala registered to the accused, 34-year-old Koree Dockstater.

In his conclusion, he said, “Shaniqua Henry cannot be excluded as the source from the front passenger seat of the Chevy Impala.”

A similar finding in relation to blood was made in connection to a door handle of the vehicle.

The body of the 27-year-old Henry was found on a driveway along Jubilee Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation on July 19, 2022.

She died from a stab wound to the heart.

Evidence heard during the murder trial has revealed that Henry and Dockstater were friends and that they had been out together.

Dockstater has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.,

The trial resumes on Wednesday.
