‘Suspicious’ early morning fire in London

London fire crews responded to an early morning blaze that is being treated as suspicious. CTV London's Sean Irvine reports.

An early morning fire in London is being called suspicious.

Crews were called around 4:30 a.m. to the area of Calgary Street at Dundas Street for a working fire in the roof of the Knights Inn.

According to District Chief Shawn Davis, the ignition source is suspected to be external.

Multiple people have been displaced and will be for several days, some longer, as units in the back portion of the building were heavily damaged, including a roof collapse.

At the peak of the event, there were about 30 firefighters on scene with nine vehicles, including an aerial truck.

One person was pulled from a back unit of the building and was taken to hospital, their condition is unknown.
