Charges laid after weekend standoff, kidnapping

Charges have been laid following a standoff in east London over the weekend.

Just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, police were sent to a home on Chippewa Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.

According to police, a person had been forcibly taken from the home and taken to London.

The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned by London police, which led to officers finding both the suspect and victim — the victim was not physically injured.

A 26 year old from London has been charged under the criminal code.
