CTV London's Julie Atchison has the latest forecast for the region

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Wednesday morning, with 2-4 mm of ice accretion in southern Huron and Perth counties, with as much as 8 mm of accretion possible in the northern reaches of the region. In London, and south of the Forest City, Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning, with heavy rain projected.

Until then, we will be enjoying some some sunshine this afternoon with temperatures on the cooler side of what’s normal for this time of year.

According to CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, this is the calm before the storm.

“There is a big weather system moving in for your Wednesday. There is the potential for some mixed precipitation in through Huron-Perth, Grey and Bruce counties. Even the risk for freezing rain.”

According to Atchison, this system will move into the Great Lakes with strong, gusty winds out of the east at the onset.

“There is a chance for some light flurries in London before transitioning to some rainfall again,” she said.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority cautioned in a statement on Tuesday afternoon that as much as 75 mm of precipitation may roll through late Wednesday morning, continuing into Thursday morning which could result in some localised flooding. Other local conservation authorities issued similar warnings.

By Thursday the temperature warms up to 18 C, 14 C on Friday under a mix of sun and cloud.
