OnYourWay mobile app being phased out in Guelph

People who use the OnYourWay app to hop on Guelph Transit will soon need to find a new payment method.

The city has announced the app will no longer be available for download or use as of July 27.

“The app no longer meets current customer service standards. As a result, Guelph Transit is exploring other modern methods of payment,” a notice from the city said.

Starting on April 15, the city will waive the $5 card fee for any riders who want to make the transition from the OnYourWay app to a physical card. The offer is only available until July 28. Cards can be picked up at the Guelph Transit Administration Office at 170 Watson Road South, Service Guelph at city hall, Victoria Road Recreation Centre at 151 Victoria Road North, West End Community Centre at 21 Imperial Road South and the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre at 683 Woolwich Street.

Starting July 15, app users will no longer be able to add money to their account.
