Man arrested for ripping cameras out of ceiling, flooding laundry rooms at Guelph apartment building

A man is facing charges after police said cameras were ripped from the ceiling and multiple laundry rooms at a Guelph apartment building were flooded.

The Guelph Police Service said a man walked into the Raymond Street building that mainly houses seniors on April 15. They said he pulled four cameras out of the ceiling and cut the wires. Investigators claim he then flooded five of the building’s laundry rooms by turning on the hot water and leaving it running.

The total estimated cost of the damage comes in at $29,000.

The man has been charged with mischief over $5,000.
