Guelph property taxes going up 6.78 per cent

Guelph homeowners can expect to pay $322.72 more on the city’s portion of their tax bill.

The city’s Local Boards and Shared Services presented their updated budgets to city council during a meeting on Wednesday.

All told, the updated budgets add up to a tax levy increase of 3.12 per cent.

In November, council also approved the city services budget, featuring a tax increase of 3.66 per cent.

Together, the two budgets equate to a total tax levy increase of 6.78 per cent in 2025.

According to the city, that will mean an additional $322.72 for the median single detached home.

Last year’s budget listed the increase as 3.96 per cent.

The numbers shared Wednesday only reflect the city’s portion of the overall tax levy.
