Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two people from Oshawa in connection to a Kitchener shooting that sent a man to hospital earlier this month.

On March 5, police were called to the Vanier Drive and Massey Avenue area around 2:12 a.m.

Officers found a 30-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said there had been an altercation with a 30-year-old woman inside a multi-unit home around the time of the shooting. The woman was not hurt but investigators said she knew the male victim.

In a social media post at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday, police said they arrested a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Oshawa. The man was charged with aggravated assault, break and enter, forcible confinement, unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of pointing a firearm, failure to comply with release order and possession of a firearm or weapon contrary to prohibition order. The woman was charged with accessory after the fact.

Both were held in police custody and will appear in court Wednesday.
