Two charged with attempted auto thefts in Cambridge

Two men have been charged for attempted auto thefts in the City of Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police said they executed search warrants in Toronto and Pickering on Wednesday and seized a stolen BMW, $8,000 in cash and other property.

Two men were taken into custody.

Police say a 23-year-old from Toronto and 26-year-old from Pickering were both charged with two counts of attempted motor vehicle theft.

The Toronto man has also been charged in connection to a carjacking in Oakville.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, he’s facing additional charges of robbery with violence, motor vehicle theft with violence, uttering forged documents, possession of a counterfeit mark, dangerous operation and possession of stolen goods over $5,000.
