Two males arrested after reports of a firearm in Cambridge

Two males have been arrested after the Waterloo Regional Police Service received a report about a firearm in Cambridge.

Police said they received the report around 10:40 a.m.

They were told a male walked into a business and tried to steal various items. When he was confronted, investigators were told he took out what appeared to be a firearm before running to a waiting vehicle.

Officers found the male nearby and recovered a replica firearm.

Two males have been arrested and are being held for a bail hearing.

No one was hurt.

On Monday, police confirmed the incident happened at an Amazon fulfillment centre location.
