One person seriously hurt, 18-year-old facing impaired charges after Wilmot crash

An 18-year-old driver was charged with impaired driving after a crash in Wilmot Friday night.

Waterloo Regional Police said first responders were called to the area of Snyders Road East and Foundry Street for a single-vehicle crash at around 11:30 p.m.

They said after further investigation, they determined the driver involved left the road and hit a tree.

A passenger was sent to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver had minor injuries.

Officer arrested the 18-year-old Wilmot man. He was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
