Guelph woman arrested for making fake reports to police

A Guelph woman was arrested after making fake reports to police and verbally abusing dispatchers.

According to Guelph Police, the woman called police approximately 15 times with allegations that were later deemed false.

Police also said the woman would berate the dispatchers who were trying to assist her and then refused to speak to officers who were sent to investigate those allegations.

On Apr. 14, officers spoke to the woman and told her that she could be charged if she continued to make false claims and, within minutes of their leaving, she called in again.

The 50-year-old was arrested the next day for public mischief.
