Guelph Police seize over $50K in drugs

A Guelph man is facing drug and weapons charges after officers seized more than $50,000 in drugs, cash and a conducted energy weapon.

Guelph Police said, at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, officers spotted a man near Speedvale Avenue East and Gladstone Avenue who was the subject in an ongoing trafficking investigation.

A search revealed quantities of suspected crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and opioid tablets with a total estimated value of $50,000. Officers also found $5,600 in cash and a conducted energy weapon.

The 38-year-old Guelph man was charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000, unauthorized possession of a weapon and driving while prohibited.
