One woman has been charged following a two-vehicle collision that knocked over a traffic light pole at a busy Waterloo intersection.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service said they came across a collision at the intersection of Weber Street North and Erb Street East around 9 a.m. Sunday.
At 10:45 a.m., a black sedan could be seen with significant front-end damage along a sidewalk with a broken traffic pole on the ground in front of it. Debris was scattered across the sidewalk and the road. The sidewalk on the North side of Erb was blocked by the traffic pole.

“Through the investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers attempted to turn left while in the intersection and struck another vehicle, resulting in one of the vehicles striking a traffic light pole,” police said in a media release.
Non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
A 33-year-old woman was charged with careless driving.
The intersection was closed for several hours due to traffic light repairs and has since been reopened.
