Cambridge resident charged with sexual assault and assaulting an officer in Fisherville incident

A Cambridge resident is facing several charges after Ontario Provincial Police were called to an incident involving a barricaded person in Fisherville, Ont., south of Cayuga.

Officers were called to the Erie Street home on Sunday around 9:30 a.m.

Police contained the area and called in the Emergency Response Team, the canine unit and crisis negotiators.

A 47-year-old Cambridge resident was eventually arrested and charged with sexual assault, forcible conferment, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, mischief under $5,000 and assaulting a peace officer.
