Tips, video sought in 2025 northeast Edmonton shooting

Police are looking for tips and video footage of a shooting that took place in the Abbottsfield neighbourhood more than a year ago.

On March 30, 2025, Edmonton police were called about a man who went to a medical facility with a gunshot wound. It was reported to officers that he was sleeping when he awoke around 5:40 a.m. with an unknown injury.

Police say he sustained a non-life-threatening injury as a result of the shooting.

“The resident has no criminal involvement and his residence is not known to police,” said Det. Andrew Furman in a news release. “This incident emphasizes the inherent danger to innocent bystanders when shootings take place, and we are grateful that his injuries were not more severe or fatal.”

Anyone with video footage of the area of 34 Street and Abbottsfield Road is asked to contact police at 780-423-4567. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
