Sexual assault investigation in Lloydminster result of noise complaint: RCMP

Lloydminster RCMP have charged three people after a noise complaint at a hotel in the city became a sexual assault investigation last week.

Mounties were responding to a local noise complaint last Friday around 3:47 a.m. when they found someone in the hotel lobby who said they had been sexually assaulted, a news release from Tuesday said.

Karan Joshi, 39, Ghansyam Verma, 22, and Joginder Momi, 45, now all faces charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement after officers found them in a hotel room and arrested them.

Joshi and Verma are residents of Lloydminster while Momi is from Edmonton, Mounties said.

All three were remanded into custody but have since been released on conditions. They are set to appear in the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 12.
