The Edmonton Police Service has issued a warning about a convicted sex offender who will be living in the city after his release from jail.
EPS says it has reasonable grounds to believe Robert Edward Ventress, 55, will commit another offense while in the community.
Ventress has been in custody since 2024 and has served his sentence for failing to comply with a probation order.
While in the community he will be subject to a court order with multiple conditions and will be managed by the EPS behavioural assessment unit.
Police say he has a criminal history including sexual offences, child sexual assault material and failing to comply with court ordered conditions, and thus poses a significant risk, particularly to children accessed through relationships with adults.
He is described as 6′0″, 170 pounds with green eyes and grey brown hair.
Anyone with information about his conduct while in the community can contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
