Crews extinguishing grass fire north of Beaumont

A grass fire prompted the closure of 50 Street north of Beaumont on Saturday.

According to a peace officer at the scene, the blaze started about one kilometre north of Township Road 510 and moved south.

Officials closed 50 Street north of the township road for less than an hour because of the smoke.

Crews were still putting out hot spots at 5 p.m.
