Hurricanes win 8th in a row, defeating Pats 4-2 in Lethbridge

The Hurricanes returned to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena for the first time in almost two weeks Wednesday night, but the result was the same as it was every night of their five-game road trip: a victory.

After Logan Wormald’s team-leading 26th goal tied the game in the first period, the Hurricanes pulled ahead in the second, getting a goal from Jordan Gustafson.

However, Pats goalie Ewan Huet stoned the Hurricanes early and shut them down midway through the game to keep the score from getting out of hand, until Matt Parnych bounced one in tie it heading into the third period.

After two periods, the Hurricanes were outshooting Regina 30-13.

In the third, Lethbridge continued to pour it on, outshooting the Pats 22-7.

Brayden Edwards fired one in to give the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead around eight minutes into the final fram, and Brayden Yager converted on an empty-netter late for the team’s fourth goal of the night.

Zack Pantelakis had the other goal for the Pats.

The 52 shots on goal were the Hurricanes' most in a single game this season.

The victory was the team’s eighth in a row, their longest winning streak since March 2019.

Next up is a Friday night matchup with the Red Deer Rebels at VisitLethbridge.com Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
