Police say foul play is not being considered after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in southeast Calgary early Monday morning.
Officials say the collision took place at 1 a.m. at 10 Avenue and First Street S.E., involving a Canadian Pacific/Kansas City freight train.
Police said a man in his 20s was lying on the tracks when the train approached the Centre Street area.
Officials say the victim suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.
Though foul play is not being considered, police are looking for information about how the victim came to be on the rail lines.
