Throughout March, officers were at nearly every school in the city during high-traffic times to speak with students and parents about the importance of safe habits when crossing the road, staying off mobile devices and where to properly drop students off.

Officers engaged with nearly 300 students and parents, issued 16 tickets and handed out numerous warnings.

While the initiative has ended, Lethbridge police say officers will continue to monitor school zones and high-traffic areas to keep everyone safe.
