Cavalry FC added Calgary forward and former U-Sports all-star Owen Antoniuk to its roster Friday.

Antoniuk joined the team on a CPL U-Sports contract, after spending 2023 and 2024 with the University of Calgary Dinos, where he scored eight goals and added five assists in 12 games with the Dinos.

He also featured for League1 Alberta side Calgary Foothills in 2024, where he scored 10 goals in 10 games and finished as the league’s top goal scorer.

Antoniuk also represented Atletico Ottawa in the CPL and Whitecaps FC 2 in MLS Next Pro in 2022.

The club also signed goalkeeper Neven Fewster and midfielder James McGlinchey to development contracts, to give them more depth on their roster.

Players who sign development contract must be a domestic, under–18 player. They’re eligible to make four appearances with a CPL club while retaining their amateur status, which allows them to continue to train and play with their amateur club.

Midfielder Charlie Trafford announced his retirement ahead of the 2025 season and Josh Belbin has departed.

Cavalry FC kick off their regular season on Saturday at Hamilton Stadium, where they take on Forge FC.
