8 people arrested at Windsor Park home identified as ‘problem residence’

Calgary police say eight people are facing charges following the seizure of drugs and weapons from a "problem home" in Windsor Park on March 20, 2025.

Calgary police say eight people were arrested at a home in Windsor Park following several complaints from the community about illegal activity occurring there.

The investigation into drug activity at the home began in December 2024, police said.

Officers attending to calls in the area were later approached by other residents who expressed concerns, which eventually lead to a search warrant being executed on March 20.

During that warrant, police seized 41 grams of methamphetamine, 29.4 grams of fentanyl, 64 gabapentin pills, four digital scales, a set of brass knuckles, a spring-loaded baton, two imitation handguns, bear spray, several different types of ammunition and 10 various knives.

Police say 11 people were removed from the home and seven were arrested on outstanding warrants.

An eighth individual, 33-year-old Brendan Bear, was charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Police say the location of the “problem home” was a big concern to investigators.

“(It) was near a public park and an elementary school and the activity that was occurring at this home left neighbours and families feeling extremely unsafe in their own community,” said District 1 Insp. Jason Bobrowich in a news release.

“We have zero tolerance for this kind of negatively impacting social disorder behaviour and drug trafficking in our communities.”

Bear is expected to appear in court on April 2.
