A 57-year-old woman died following a hit-and-run on Stoney Trail on Tuesday night.
Police responded to the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail N.W. approaching the bridge deck of Nose Hill Drive around 11:50 p.m.

A white Toyota Corolla, driven by a woman in her 50s, was travelling south when it was hit by an unknown vehicle.
“At that time, a vehicle was found to have been spun out on the highway, and the driver had been ejected from the vehicle,” Sgt. Colin Foster, with the Calgary Police Service collision reconstruction unit, said.
“On our arrival, by Carmacks (towing) initially, they found a female driver on the roadway with serious injuries.”
Police said evidence suggests the unknown vehicle was likely a semi-truck and trailer.
The unknown vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Two people travelling in a road maintenance truck were the first on the scene and provided medical aid to the woman.
Shortly after, a black Ram truck, driven by a 21-year-old man with a 21-year-old woman passenger, hit a barrier in the median and collided with the woman. The truck then hit the road maintenance truck.

The woman was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead when she arrived.
The other drivers and passengers at the scene were not injured in the collision. Southbound lanes were closed for several hours, but reopened around 10 a.m.
Police said there is no evidence to indicate if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Police have arrested a man in his 20s and recovered a vehicle they believe was involved in the initial collision.
“That said, we are still open to the fact that this may not be the vehicle that’s involved in the collision,” Foster said.
Police are still seeking assistance in finding a tractor-trailer unit that would have damage to the front end and significant damage to the trailer, including the loss of the landing gear.
