Five masked people stole $800 of merchandise from a convenience store in Owen Sound.

Five disguised people walked in and took items and stuffed them in their backpacks on Friday afternoon at a west-end variety store.

There was no violence, nor was the store clerk threatened.

Four male youths have been identified and arrested by police. The suspects face charges including theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime and obstructing police, among other offences.

The suspect’s identities cannot be published in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police are encouraging the fifth suspect, who is still at large, to surrender to Owen Sound Police Service.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance, which contributed significantly in this investigation.
