Impaired driving and drug trafficking charges laid after vehicle fails to move over for emergency vehicle

Police laid charges of impaired driving and drug trafficking in Kawartha Lakes after a vehicle allegedly failed to move over for an emergency vehicle.

Police say an officer conducted the traffic stop late Saturday evening on Centreline Road. During the stop, the officer launched an investigation, reportedly resulting in the driver registering a warn during a roadside breath test.

Three people from Bobcaygeon were charged, and as a result, the vehicle was towed to an impound yard. Additionally, the driver of the vehicle was handed a licence suspension for three days.

Two of the accused were released from custody and the third was held for a bail hearing.
