Driver charged for allegedly speeding 171km/h on Highway 26

Officers patrolling in Springwater Township pulled over a vehicle allegedly speeding more than double the posted limit along Highway 26.

"This driver learned a costly lesson about stunt driving after being caught doing 171 km/h in an 80 km/h zone," Huronia West OPP stated in a social media post regarding the traffic stop Thursday morning.

“It’s dangerous, illegal and comes with serious consequences, such as heavy fines, licence suspension, and vehicle impoundment,” the post continued.

A stunt driving charge carries an immediate 30-day licence suspension and roadside vehicle tow to the impound yard.

“Keep it on the track, not the streets,” the post finished.
