Country music star Dean Brody will perform a free concert in Barrie in June.

Canadian country music star Dean Brody will perform a free concert in Barrie.

The announcement was made Wednesday morning at the annual mayor’s luncheon.

The 16-time CCMA award-winner will take the stage at Meridian Place as part of the Barrie BIA’s downtown concert series on June 14.

The concert is one of many scheduled for the summer, aimed at boosting tourism.

The event is funded through the Municipal Accommodation Tax.
