In the aftermath of Wednesday’s heavy rainfall, the Town of Collingwood dealt with wastewater treatment issues on Thursday, affecting sewage and drainage.
The Town of Collingwood announced on Thursday that their wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) experienced a full treatment bypass.
Specifically, they say a partial bypass of their UV system started at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night. Then, at 2 a.m. Thursday morning, an overflow at their headworks started and their Minnesota Street pumping station began experiencing an overflow.
In a later update, the town stated that the WWTP overflows ended by 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
