Barrie Police have charged an Innisfil woman in connection to a fatal motorcycle crash that happened last fall.
On the afternoon of October 22, 2024, officers from the Barrie Police Service responded to reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
According to investigators, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Mapleview Drive west when it collided with a passenger vehicle that was making a left turn to head westbound on the south side of the street.
The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old man from Barrie, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Police closed the road for several hours on the day of the incident to allow for an investigation by the Barrie Police Traffic Unit.
Following the investigation, police have charged the driver of the passenger vehicle, a 69-year-old woman from Innisfil, with careless driving causing death.
