The wild mix of spring weather is expected to continue in Simcoe County, as Barrie and many surrounding areas are under a special weather statement for strong winds on Thursday.
According to Environment Canada, the region could see winds up to 85 kilometres per hour through Thursday afternoon, which could possibly toss loose objects and cause more power outages.
The national weather agency states that tree damage and utility interruption are possible with the recent ice storm and heavy rainfall in southern Ontario.
The special weather statement extends from the Greater Toronto Area in the south, the Owen Sound area in the west, Orillia in the north and the Peterborough area in the east.
Temperature-wise, the forecasted high of 16 degrees in Barrie on Thursday would double the normal high of eight degrees for early April according to Environment Canada.
