4th suspect arrested one year after alleged armed robbery in Alliston

Police say another arrest has been made in connection with a robbery investigation that began one year ago in New Tecumseth.

Provincial police with the Nottawasaga detachment launched the investigation on Feb. 27, 2024, in the Kidd Crescent and John W. Taylor Avenue area in Alliston.

Following the alleged incident, two homes were surrounded by police tape, and several officers, along with the OPP helicopter, and K9 Unit canvassed the area.

Police say three individuals were taken into custody and a stolen vehicle was recovered.

At the time, OPP said investigators did not consider the alleged robbery to be a random incident.

Provincial police say on Friday last week, a fourth suspect was arrested on a warrant.

The 24-year-old man from Markham faces charges of robbery with a firearm and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Police confirmed the investigation remains active. They urge anyone with further information to contact Nottawasaga OPP or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
