1-2-3 on a speedometer costs woman her ride

A woman was busted for speeding and had her car impounded in Adjala-Tosorontio Twp. Sun., Feb. 2, 2025.

Provincial police say an officer stopped a speeding car in Adjala Tosorontio Township on Sunday morning.

A police traffic unit officer pulled over a car on Concession 3 that was allegedly travelling 123 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 zone.

The accused faces a stunt driving charge.

Police suspended the 48-year-old woman’s licence and impounded her vehicle for seven days.

The licence suspension and vehicle impoundment are automatic penalties that accompany a stunt driving offence.

Stunt driving in Ontario equals speeds of 40km/h or above in a less than 80 km/h zone, or 50 km/h or above where the speed limit is 80 or higher.
