The RCMP has charged three people after police seized drugs from a home in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County.

Pictou County Integrated Street Crimes Enforcement Unit started an investigation related to a suspicious package being moved by courier.

The investigation found the package contained illicit, synthetic drugs with a delivery address in Three Brooks, N.S.

After the package was claimed, police searched a home on Three Brooks Road on March 27.

During the search, the force says officers seized fentanyl and fluorofentanyl, and recovered a stolen enclosed trailer.

Four people were arrested, three of whom have been charged.

Jake Bruce Murphy, 34, of Three Brooks, has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance (fentanyl) and three counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

Rebecca Lynn Pitts, 48, of Three Brooks, has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance (fentanyl).

Merissa Ann Sutherland, 34, of Pictou, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.

All three were released by police on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Pictou provincial court on June 23.

The fourth person arrested was released without charges.
